Pithecopus azureus is a species of frog in the subfamily Phyllomedusinae that lives in Brazil, Paraguay, Argentina, Bolivia, and Peru.
The adult frog measures 31 to 44 mm in snout-vent length. Its eyes are disproportionately large relative to its head. It has very little webbing on its forepaws. The skin of the dorsum is bright green, but it can change color to brown during the day. The ventrum is whitish. There is a green stripe down each side of the hind legs. Some individuals have orange and black stripes on the legs.
This frog is in some danger of dying out because of habitat loss. People convert its habitats to soybean farms and sugar cane farms and build dams nearby.

Pithecopus azureus je druh žáby z podčeledi Phyllomedusinae, který žije v Brazílii, Paraguayi, Argentině, Bolívii a Peru. Dospělý jedinec měří 31 až 44 mm. Oči jsou v poměru k hlavě neúměrně velké a přední tlapky mají jen velmi malé plovací blány. Kůže na hřbetě je jasně zelená, ale během dne může změnit barvu na hnědou. Břicho je bělavé. Po stranách zadních nohou vede zelený pruh, někteří jedinci mají na nohou oranžové a černé pruhy. Tato žába je ohrožena vyhynutím v důsledku ztráty přirozeného prostředí, které je přeměňováno na sójové a cukrové plantáže nebo narušováno výstavbou přehrad.

Pithecopus azureus ist eine Froschart aus der Unterfamilie Phyllomedusinae, die in Brasilien, Paraguay, Argentinien, Bolivien und Peru vorkommt. Der erwachsene Frosch erreicht eine Kopf-Rumpf-Länge von 31 bis 44 mm. Seine Augen sind im Verhältnis zum Kopf überproportional groß und die Vorderpfoten weisen kaum Schwimmhäute auf. Die Rückenfärbung ist leuchtend grün, kann sich jedoch tagsüber braun verfärben; die Bauchseite ist weißlich.
