The grey-headed parrotbill (Paradoxornis gularis) is a bird species in the family Sylviidae, distributed across eastern and southern Asia, ranging from the Himalayas through Indochina to southern China and Hainan. Measuring approximately 16.5 to 18 cm in length, it is distinguished by a light grey head, a black forehead stripe, white eye-rings, and a black throat patch. Its upperparts are chestnut-brown, while the underparts are whitish with brownish flanks. The bird features a robust, orange-yellow bill and greyish legs. It inhabits temperate and mountain forests, as well as bamboo thickets and dense undergrowth. Often found in the canopy or lower vegetation, it may move in mixed-species flocks. The species is found in various countries, including Bhutan, India, Myanmar, Laos, Vietnam, and Thailand, though specific ecological requirements and population dynamics remain subjects of ongoing study.
