The black-headed bulbul (Microtarsus melanocephalos) is a member of the bulbul family, Pycnonotidae. It is found in forests in south-eastern Asia.
The black-headed bulbul is 16–18 cm (6.3–7.1 in) in overall length and weighs 20–30 g (0.71–1.06 oz). It has a mainly olive-yellow plumage with a glossy bluish-black head. A rare grey morph where most of the olive-yellow is replaced by grey also exists. It resembles the black-crested bulbul, but has blue eyes (though not reliable in juveniles), a broad yellow tip to the tail, and never shows a crest (however, some subspecies of the black-crested are also essentially crestless, but they have red or yellow throats).
The black-headed bulbul feeds mainly on small fruit and berries, but will also take insects. It commonly occurs in small flocks of 6-8 individuals.

Cet oiseau mesure 16-18 cm. Il a un plumage essentiellement jaune-olive avec une tête d'un noir bleuâtre brillant. Il existe également une variante grise où la plupart du jaune-olive est remplacé par du gris. Il ressemble au Bulbul à tête noire mais a les yeux bleus (mais point qui n'est pas fiable chez les juvéniles), un embout de queue jaune bien apparent, et n'a jamais de crête (toutefois, certaines sous-espèces n'ont pas non plus de crête mais ils ont la gorge rouge ou jaune). Il est répandu à travers les forêts tropicales du sud-est asiatique.

Черноголовый настоящий бюльбюль (лат. Brachypodius melanocephalos) — вид певчих воробьинообразных из семейства бюльбюлевых (Pycnonotidae). Ареал — Юго-Восточная Азия. Оперение — оливково-жёлтое на туловище и тёмно-синее — на голове. Существует также серая форма, у которой оливково-жёлтый цвет заменён серым. У подвида с Андаманских островов большая часть головы оливкового цвета, и он часто рассматривается как особый вид — андаманский бюльбюль (B. fuscoflavescens). Черноголовый бюльбюль схож с золотогрудым бюльбюлем, отличается голубым цветом глаз, широким жёлтым кончиком хвоста, и никогда не показывает хохолок (при этом некоторые подвиды золотогрудого бюльбюля тоже, по сути, не имеют хохолка, но они отличаются красным или жёлтым оперением горла). Черноголовый бюльбюль обычно питается мелкими фруктами и ягодами, может есть и насекомых. Живёт небольшими группами по 6—8 особей.
